Abstract
Road accidents cases have increased day by day since the technology expanded globally like smartphone and any kind of vehicle entertainment systems are contribute to road accident where 1.35 million people die every year according to World Health Organization. The complexity of displaying data by authorities occurs as a result of the volume, diversity, and quality of data becoming hurdles to presenting information to the public. Furthermore, the public is unaware of the hotspot areas for road accidents. The goal of this project is to create the Crash : Data Visualization of Road Accidents Hotspot Area dashboard. The visualization of the hotspot area was displayed along the road based on historical data from 2005 until 2010. The dashboard will display the number of road accidents at certain areas thus could inform vehicle drivers to be more careful along the hotspot area and further could alert authorities to take the appropriate action at the hotspot location. Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) methodology was adopted in this project since the process was easier to implement for data analytic project. The clustering tool technique was being used to visualize the hotspot area of road accidents. All the visualization of CRASH was developed in Power BI software. Several charts and graphs, such as a bar chart, map, line chart, and donut chart, are used to illustrate the dashboard. With this dashboard, the number of road accidents will reduce, and road accidents may be avoided. A real-time database with more layers of map display is recommended for future development to offer in-depth information into a single hotspot.
