Wecare4u: donation mobile application for charity / Muhammad Izzat Ahamad Zahidi

Since the advancement used of the smartphone, there are various mobile charity programs and new donation apps designed specifically for the community to channel aid to those in need. The unemployment crisis has changed more families into poverty life, as the poverty rate in society has increased rapidly, with half of the families living in complete poverty. The objective of the project is to identify the requirement, design, and develop the WeCare4U donation mobile application for charity. WeCare4u is a donation mobile application using an android platform for a charity organization that wants to organize a charity program and the public users who are interested to contribute by making some donations through the mobile application. The methodological approach utilized in this project was the Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC). It only covered the period from the beginning of the identification process to the end of the testing process. WeCare4U mobile application offered several features and functions such as donation through a mobile application, push notification to notify every successful transaction, and locating a home shelter nearby using location-based services. Besides, WeCare4U allows the charity organization to create a charity program or fundraising using the mobile application. WeCare4U allows the charity organization to view the details for every donation received. The testing result for WeCare4U mobile application involving 8 users shows a good average with a 72 score based on System Usability Scale (SUS). Future recommendations are the mobile application should include user donation history for the user's references in the future. The benefit for mobile designers and developers is increasing the awareness about poverty issues in this country and providing a donation platform to help the people who are in financial problems, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
