Abstract

Every muslim is responsible to his muslim brother. Mualaf number has increased every year reported by PERKIM. PERKIM has made a class for mualaf. Because of time constraint, some of them have difficulty to attend class. Mualaf that registered with PERKIM are in a group of students, housewife, and workers. They need to go to work and come to the class for learning session also. Some of them cannot manage time very well and always missed class. The objectives of this project are to identify user requirement for M-AM by using questionnaire method. Next, to design for this application based on the questionnaire result. Finally, to develop the prototype for this application using Eclipse. This project is significant to mualaf because no mobile applications that focused on mualaf so far. It also gives contribution to PERKIM as it will help PERKIM to organize their class better and easy to give updated information through this application. This project is focusing to mualaf who lives area Shah Alam only. Methodology that researcher used is Rapid Application Design because the time constraint and by using this method it gives short but quality product. RAD has four phase, first phase is user requirement, second is user design, third is construction phase and lastly is cutover or testing phase. All this phases is done by researcher except fo the fourth phase which is cutover phase, cannot be done because of time constraint. This project can be extended to serve people online as in today’s world by making some changes on the prototype. The main recommendations are for the syllabus, can refer to PERKIM to add topic outside the syllabus. Online databse only used for forum and newsfeed only, other page can change to offline, so that user without internet can still use this application. In future, maybe push notification can be added to make user alert about the news. This prototype then can be commercialized if it has all this features.
