Carbon dioxide sequestration is developed as one of the options to reduce CO₂emissions into the atmosphere. However, this application remains expensive, and there is still a lack of literature regarding this topic. This study investigates CO₂ sequestration in deep saline aquifers to evaluate its technical viability as a long-term carbon storage solution. Deep saline aquifers offer immense capacity, yet understanding storage security, permeability, and caprock integrity is essential to overcome cost and literature gaps. Using reservoir simulation techniques, the migration, dissolution, and trapping mechanisms of CO₂ were analyzed. The results demonstrate that deep saline aquifers can effectively store high volumes of CO₂ while maintaining structural integrity. This research provides valuable insights to enrich existing literature and support cost-effective carbon storage operations.
