Abstract
When a crime is committed, justice must be done. However, though it is easy to create an appearance of justice, mere appearance may turn out to be only an illusion. Those who commit crimes must be brought to justice. But who can be 'labeled' as 'criminal' and hov; is justice done? Most important, who is authorized to make a valid label on a particular person? Is there any such thing as labeling a person under a certain category?
There is immense danger in labeling a person because it effects his life. Through their crimes, even ordinary men become public figures and may even find a place in history, while a public figure accused of crime can be even more widely known than their career. Ideas about the causes of crime and remedies rooted in these ideas succeed one another. However, these causes are not widely recognized in modern civilized society where one method of dealing with crime which is known as criminal justice is used. This project paper is to introduce the theories regarding the causative factors in criminal behaviour which embracing (v) a "biological, psychological and sociological factors and how far these factors have "been taken into consideration "by the courts in sentencing the accused.
