Abstract
This research study attempts to identify the student absenteeism as the main determinant of student performance and in their learning process particularly for student in Diploma in Public Administration semester December 2008-April 2009. The hypothesis for this research is based on the rational of the students whereby they required filling in the questionnaire distributed by the researches. The primary and secondary data were used to collect and gathering information. The primary data such as a survey questionnaire set was used to gather data from 75 students studying in Part 5 in Diploma in Public Administration course semester December 2008-April 2009, the secondary data such as articles and journals become the researchers’ important sources to relate the views of students in Diploma in Public Administration course regarding the student performance. The data were analyzed with table of frequency and percentage by using the SPSS 12 package. Based on the findings, it is found out that student absenteeism has relationship with the learning process of the student and their academic performance. In the research also, shown that the students in UiTM rate their level of academic performance as high as they feels that they are motivated
studying there.
