Abstract
This study investigates the performance of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Malaysia, recognizing its crucial role in achieving the nation's economic goals, such as Wawasan 2020 (introduced in 1991 by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad). As a developing country, Malaysia utilizes FDI from developed nations (like the United States and China) to enhance economic stability and growth by improving technological advancement, skills, labor workforce, and infrastructure development. The research measures FDI performance using several macroeconomic variables: Gross Domestic Product (GDP), unemployment rate, interest rate, and inflation rate. The study applies time series data collected over a ten-year horizon, from 2011 until 2020, with the variables analyzed using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method.
