Abstract

Bumiputra’s achievement in academic performance is something that we should be aware of because it could measure the performance of Bumiputra in academic. Through their achievement so far, we could know whether they have made an improvement or not. The government has made various efforts in order to help the Bumiputra to perform well academically like providing scholarship, free registration fees, free text books, loans, giving out free computers and laptops and so on. But do these helps provided by the government have made the Bumiputra’s student getting better in their performance. With all of the helps provided by the government for the Bumiputra, the expectation towards Bumiputra’s academic performance is high where the perceivers expect that the Bumiputra’s students could do well. This is why we made a research on student’s perception toward Bumiputra’s academic performance as we also would like to know their comments toward Bumiputra’s achievements so far.The government also has made comments and advices for Bumiputra, even the our previous Prime Minister, Tun Abdullah stated that the Bumiputra depend too much on the government. It is our responsibility to know whether what was stated by the former Prime Minister was accurate or not because, which is why we also included that statement in our questionnaire. In carrying on this research, we used two systematic ways, for instance, using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Scientist), and questionnaires. We have decided to distribute our questionnaire to 160 students from Diploma in Administrative Science. From the responds given by our respondents, we could conclude the perceptions made by some of the perceivers toward Bumiputra’s achievement in their academic performance.
