MUC531 : Keyboard harmony / College of Creative Arts

This course exposes students to the various terms, principles and techniques of harmony. Students will explore the standard chord patterns and harmonic progressions commonly found in pop, rock, blues and jazz. The course also covers learning how to use keyboard as a tool when one is composing. Through a combination of activities—listening, thinking, writing, playing and improvising—students will open their ears and deepen their understanding of the inner workings of harmony in a broad range of modern styles.
