Abstract

Keresa Plantation Sdn.Bhd is a local bumiputra company with about 10 years of experience in oil palm plantation. Currently, Keresa owns a 6,023 hectares of oil palm plantation at Lavang Land District, Bintulu, which started operation in1996. The palm is this estate categorized as matured. Having a yield rate of 24 tonne per hectare, current FFB production is reaching 100^000 tonnes Upon complete maturity of keresa existing plantation, it is expected to produce FFB of more than 140.000 tonnes per annum. Keresa Plantation have a Total Quality Management Unit to monitor all field operations for continuous improvement approach. ln 2014, Keresa Mill Sdn Bhd (KMSB) is expected to process 244,651mt FFB and produce 53,823mt crude palm oil (CPO). Out of the total, 57.54 per cent will be from Keresa Plantation, 4.9 percent from smallholders and the balance from outside suppliers. We expect to get an average OER of 22 percent and kernel extraction rate (KER) of 4.5 per cent.
