Abstract

A Practice Note 17 (PN17) Company is a listed company in the Malaysian Stock Exchange that is financially distressed or does not have a core business or has failed to meet minimum capital or equity (less than 25% of the paid-up capital). Analytical studies and scientific researchers are still lacking in the PN17 Malaysian companies. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between liquidity, leverage, activity, cash flow, consumer’s price index and the interest rate on the financial performance of PN17 company in Malaysia by using the time series data for the period of eight years (2009 - 2017). Regression analysis is employed to investigate whether the six constructs will have a relationship with the determinants of financial performance of PN17 company in Malaysia.
