Factors that influence involvement of young entrepreneurs in agriculture sector in Southern Region of Malaysia

In this study, the researcher focuses on the factors that influence involvement of young entrepreneurs in agriculture sector in Malaysia Southern Region. The purpose of the study is to examine the relationships between independent variables toward dependent variable with the existence of mediating variable which is information and communications technology usage. For this study, the researcher used the simple random technique. The researcher distribute questionnaire to the 120 respondents and only 98 questionnaires return back to the researcher. In this study, the researcher use Statistical Package Social Science (SPSS) software in order to analyze the data. The finding shows that if there is information and communications technology usage, only one independent variable has significant relationship with the involvement of young entrepreneurs in agriculture sector in Malaysia Southern Region which is entrepreneurship experience. The other three independent variables have no significant relationship with the involvement of young entrepreneurs in agriculture sector in Malaysia Southern Region which is financial availability, entrepreneurship education and social network. If there is no information and communications technology usage, there are two independent variables that will has significant relationship with the involvement of young entrepreneurs in agriculture sector in Malaysia Southern Region which is entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurship experience. Based on the research findings, the researcher conclude that the mediating variable does not help in this study.
