Abstract

Company vehicle is very important for any organization in assisting the business activities and for the movement of their workers for official purposes. Some of the company prefer to purchase the vehicles while some of them prefer to rent it from a various car rental company. The decision of owning or renting the vehicles depends on the size of the company and its financial position. This thesis have been prepared to study the economics between Celcom privately owned vehicles and hired vehicles. In this thesis, the cost benefit analysis was prepared by calculating the cost incurred in privately owned company vehicles for the period of 6 months starting from September 1994 until February 1995 as compared to the rental vehicles. The forecasted cost have been calculated for both alternatives by assuming that after 5 years period all the payment of privately owned vehicles have been fully settled.
