Abstract

Over the past three decades, the sustainable and green development movement has gained remarkable momentum, with individuals and businesses making significant strides in the development of green buildings. This study focused specifically on the challenges associated with managing commercial green building development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Through interviews with respondents, data was collected to identify common difficulties and explore potential strategies to overcome them. Data obtained from interviews with respondents were analysed by using content analysis to enabling the identification of common difficulties of managing commercial green building development project and exploration of potential strategies for overcoming them. The findings shed light on several key aspects related to managing commercial green building development, highlighting the lack of expertise and professionals, high material cost, unfamiliarity with green technologies, and lack of public awareness as significant challenges.
