Abstract

This study examines the motivational factors of social motives, career motive, belonging motives, and self-enhancement motives that encourage student participation in volunteering programs. Questionnaire has been used as a research instruments were used to obtain data. A total of 214 questionnaire were distributed to the respondents at Melaka International College of Science and Technology (MiCoST). The sample of study and data was then being analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). The tests involved are Descriptive Analysis, Reliability Analysis, Pearson Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis. The multiple regression analysis result showed that there is significant relationship between all the determinant in the study which are Social Motives, Career Motives, Values Motives, and Self-enhancement Motives with student participation in Volunteering Programs. At the end of the study, researcher proof that elf-enhancement motives influence student participation in volunteering the most.
