Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the determinant that affect the changes in cost of living in South East Asian Countries and other Region. Besides, the study is also to determines whether independent variable which is gross national income, expenditure and population level negatively and positively affect the consumer price index and also whether the model significantly explain the factor that affect the changes in cost of living. The research is conducted by doing secondary data which collected the data from World Bank Data, CEIC data, ADB data library, OECD and IMF. After collect the data, the data will be converted into data form and process by Microsoft Excel and E-views Statistical Package for Windows which mainly used for time-series and panel-oriented economic analysis. Last but not least, gross national income, expenditure and population can be conclude to have positive relationship with changes in cost of living. This may due to the factor of the purchasing power, the salary of the household for the certain countries as mention in paragraph 1.
