Abstract

Flood is one of the hazards that happens once in a while and happened when there is an excessive of water. The land use land cover can give the impact towards the flood. Besides, when there is the changing in the surface condition such as the reduction of vegetation can produce the flood. In addition, the flood flows will increase and the chances to get the flood will higher. The aims of this research are to investigate the flood impact at rural place in Baling by using the integration of the remote sensing and GIS approach. The objective of this research is to produce the flood risk map and land use land cover in Baling, Kedah and to analyze the flood impact towards the land use land cover in Baling, Kedah in Year 2022. The GIS approach is used to process all of the data that is needed to get the result of this study. The result shown in this research is the flood risk map in Baling area. Based on the indicators that shown in the map, there are five risk classes which is very high, high, moderate, low and very low. From the map, the analysis between land use land cover have been analyzed. By using this map, it will help the communities to prevent flooding at the high-risk areas.
