Discovering attractive places of UiTM Perlis branch via web application / Nur Farhana Mohd Zamri

Tourism is a treasure trove of wants and curiosity, ranging from concrete destinations to intangible experiences. No matter why and where the destination of traveling there will always have something new and wonderful to be found, and that is why humans are natural explorers and curious to explore new places. Following the passage of time, the innovation of technology has been applied in the tourism sector in order to improve its productivity, effectiveness and marketing. Technology advancements and GIS components can develop e-tourism and virtual tourism, which are both significant innovations for the tourism industry. The purpose of this study is to prepare a web in order to highlight attractive places that have in this university. This study is important in order to solve the problem that there are no digital and visual maps of the UiTM Perlis branch that show the exact location and places that have there, so generating a web-based of this location for public use can be the best solution. The objectives of this study are to develop an interactive web about the UiTM Perlis branch and then to validate the output of a tourism web-based system. The application that will be used to generate the website of this research is open source Wix Web Editor. Data that will be used will be collected using an in-situ observation method and the waterfall model technique will be applied in developing a web-based. The finalization of the development web-based will be evaluated through the questionnaire to 52 respondents. The significance of this study is to highlight attractive places in the UiTM Perlis branch via the application. The attractive places will be separated into 3 categories which a recreation areas, sports areas and facility areas. Every place will be provided with detailed information such as coordinates, names of places, and pictures. So that users can easily access and get information about the places from the web that has been created.
