Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the validity of export - led economic growth in Thailand. The real GDP in Thailand is act as the dependent variable in this study while there are three independent variables to be used which consist of real export, real import and terms of trade. The financial data of Thailand for each of the independent and dependent variables is gathered on yearly basis over the period of 1994 to 2014. The data is obtained from Bank of Thailand and World Bank. A multiple linear regression is used in this study. Interactive software package E-view would be used for testing and analyzing the data collected. An econometric test will be conducted during this study in order to determine the relationship between macroeconomic variables towards real GDP in Thailand. However, the results obtained from the test did not match with the objective of this study. All the independent variables showed insignificant relationship towards real GDP in Thailand.
