Abstract
This course introduces the students to the theory of Contrastive Analysis and assesses its role in the field of applied linguistics, with an emphasis on English and Malay languages. The course gives insight into conducting systematic comparisons of the linguistic features (phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics) of English and Malay language through the use of parallel and comparative texts.
