Chromosome and DNA - A chromosome is a structural structure made up of DNA and proteins that holds genetic information in the form of genes. It is found in the nucleus of cells and is required for cell division and replication. DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the genetic material that provides instructions for the growth, development, function, and reproduction of all living organisms. It is composed of nucleotides and has a double helix structure. The nucleus of a cell, as well as some organelles such as mitochondria, contain DNA. It is the blueprint of the organism and contains all the information needed to generate and sustain life. Males and females differ in their talents, capabilities, and limitations, as well as their genetic make-up.
