An innovation of top case (box) for motorcycle / Zanariah Abdul Rahman and Shamsatun Nahar Ahmad

Travelling on motorcycle entail riders to provide accessory for their own comfort and satisfaction. The important things to bring along are wallet, keys, travelling documents and others. It is not advisable to put those items in the jackets' pockets, because those items could fall out while riding. Basically, motorcycles are equipped with common accessories. For instance, Versys 1000 is equipped with the case racks (side and top), but not with the box. The cost to have complete accessory installed may reach more than RM10K. The important accessories for touring bike are the side cases (luggage box) and top case (box). The cost for original top case could reach up to RM1-2K. Due to the need for having the accessories and looking for cost effective way of owning the product, a new top case for motorcycle Versys 1000 is designed. The new top case could cost 70% less than buying from the store. However, this new design case is to store smaller and important items as mentioned earlier and not for the use of putting big items. The main item used is a coin storage/box which could easily be found from the stationeries store. The coin box must be selected according to the size of the motorcycle's case rack. Sometimes, the coin box does not come in specific colours therefore; the coin box needs to be sprayed with the desired colours.
