Abstract
This course is designed to introduce the Colloquial Arabic Language used in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, The learning of the language is based on a comparative study of the Standard Arabic Language which is the lingua franca of the Arabic nations. It covers the similarities and differences of the standard language in terms of phonology, morphology, vocabulary, syntax and semantics. It emphasises on the communicative aspects of the language as well as the exposure to the lifestyle and culture of the locals.
