TSL476 : Structure of English / Faculty of Education

This course is intended to help students understand the structure of English and prepare them for practical courses such as grammar and writing. The main purpose is to make students aware of different levels of analysis at the sentence, clause and phrase level. It is also meant to make students familiar with traditional terminology for sentence constituents such as subject, predicate, and direct object; word classes such as noun, verb, adjective; and phrase constituents such as head, pre-modifier, post-modifiers.
