Issues in syariah business: a study of Islamic banking at Klang, Selangor / Nor Aina Afifah Abdul Aziz

The Islamic banking system is banking or activities that conduct business in accordance with the principles permitted by Islam. The products and services of the Islamic banking system are not only aimed at Muslims but are also open to non -Muslims. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the extent to which the Islamic banking industry in Malaysia conducts activities in a manner that always follows the Islamic perspective. This is because, Islam is a religion that protects human welfare by prescribing the law of muamalat in daily life. By following Islamic syariah in every aspect especially in Islamic banking activities, the objectives of this study can be achieved. This can reduce issues in Islamic banking such as issues in riba, gharar, maysir and so on from continuing to occur. Besides, the method used in this study is a qualitative method. This method is carried out by conducting an online interview on WhatsApp. This interview method was conducted with an employee in the Islamic banking sector where she experienced in Islamic banking product strategist and expertise in shariah compliance. In this study many things will be discussed especially about the issues that occur in shariah business and how Islamic banking can control it in tandem to achieve the objective of this study which is to study the issues that occur in Islamic banking. The results show that Islamic banking is different from conventional banking where Islamic banking conducts activities in accordance with the maqasid syariah. In this study can find out the issues that occur in Islamic banking and how Islamic banking controls the issue very well. In conclusion, although there are many challenges in getting answers to some questions but with the clear knowledge and understanding conveyed by the interviewers has made this study able to achieve the desired objectives successfully. All questions asked about issues in sharia business have been answered.
