Abstract

This paper is made to finding out about the factors that contributed to the determining the economic determinants towards the demand family takaful consumption in Malaysia. The secondary data for analysis is retrieved from UiTM Johor Data stream and the sample of this study is from Bank Negara Malaysia within 9 years from 2005 to 2013. Methodology used for this study is by using the Multiple Linear Regression with time series. In our study, the dependent variable is demand family takaful consumption in Malaysia measured by premium expenditure and the independent variables are income, interest rate, inflation, composite stock index, and saving. Based on the variables, the study aim is to explore the relationship of income (GDP), interest rate (BLR), inflation (CPI), composite stock index (FBM KLCI) and saving (SR) towards the family takaful consumption. Thus, the result of this research paper will help the participants take steps of strategies and decision making based on family takaful consumption in Malaysia.
