Abstract

The problem of poverty in Malaysia is a problem that remains unresolved even to this day. One of the ways to solve this problem of poverty is with the help of zakat. Zakat is one of the things that play an essential role in the Economy of Muslims in the current era of globalization. This is because zakat is a component of the Islamic economic system rooted in Islamic principles, and it aims to benefit the Economy of the Muslim community, universal brotherhood, and equal distribution of money. The Malaysian government has worked to eradicate poverty among Malaysians by creating various projects. High zakat payments should solve the problem of poverty in Malaysia. However, the issue of poverty in society is still unresolved. Among the issues highlighted on the zakat, the problem is that zakat income is not fully distributed. Therefore, this research aims to study the role and impact of zakat on the Economy of the B 40 Muslim community in Seri Iskandar, Perak.
