Abstract

This course is the study of Urban Design theories, principles and description, as well as the processes of urban production and consumption. Students are to review literature and carry out precedent studies to reinforce their understanding of key components that shape the physical setting for life in cities. This will develop their sensitivity on constructive urban spaces that correspond to basic human needs, liveability, historic preservation, environmental quality and aesthetic values. Several stages of studies will be undertaken, from the rhetorics to the rationale, leading to the main project of urban development itself
