Abstract

The saxophone instrument has since becoming more popular and famous around the world. It is also one of the easiest instruments to learn and play. Since the saxophone has been accepted and use in many time in the jazz music, it has also been used in other music genre such as Fusion Jazz, Pop, Ska, etc. the famous saxophonist has since started to composed saxophone instrumental song or repertoire. Other than that, if listen carefully in every records of saxophone instrumental repertoire, for a saxophonist such as myself, sometimes did not know what are the extended technique that they use or perhaps created in their repertoire or performances. The extended technique has been slowly evolving or created from time to time until today. The question is, what are the extended technique that were used and perhaps created by the famous saxophonist around the world. From my light observation before doing this study, I noticed from that there are some new technique that I have found in some recordings of the famous saxophonist form YouTube. Therefore, this study will find out what are the extended techniques that has been use or created by the 10 chosen famous saxophone player.
