Abstract

This course aims to introduce students to the fundamental elements of architectural research and the technicalities of producing academic research writing. The course combines lectures with active forum / group discussion to encourage students to be inquisitive and engage in topical debates. Lecture topics cover the essentials of conducting a small scale research and producing an academic writing as the research outcome. At the end of the course, students are required to submit a 750-words research proposal for their intended study for the AAR 635 Topical Study course in the following semester. A Pass in the ARA 615 is a prerequiste for the AAR 635 course.
