The usage of leitmotif and minimalism in the film score "The Dark Knight Rises" by Hans Zimmer / Farrah Dhaniah Mohd Salleh

This research aims to study the usage of leitmotif and minimalism by Hans Zimmer in the film score of the film 'The Dark Knight Rises' (2012). The objectives of this research are to identify the minimalism techniques used by Hans Zimmer in Batman theme and to analyze the development of the Batman leitmotif using motivic development techniques. To do so, research was required by analyzing the film score and listening to the recording from the film. One particular cue was chosen from the film. All the data collected were from secondary data which was from journals, websites, articles and online databases.
