ARK550: Design V / Faculty of Architecture, Planning & Surveying

This course will be devoted to the study of housing. It focuses on housing issues, concept of neighbourhood, housing types, housing layouts, community and culture. Urban issues related to housing, user needs, landscaping, architectural and environmental psychology, planning regulations, climatic considerations and community integration will also be addressed. Design Project, based on team and individual work, will explore housing layout & design for a small site of around 2 to 4 acres, exposing students to planning and design for different age groups, cultures and lifestyles.
