Al Halaawah: folded prayer mat / Muamar Mukhaiyar Mahzan

Sejadah is a product that is often used by Muslims in Malaysia. It has become a habit for a Muslim to use the prayer mat during prayer. The function of the prayer mat is to be a liner during prayer to avoid dirt. This is because Islam teaches its people to maintain cleanliness wherever they are. Due to the post pandemic era, government requires people to bring their own prayer mat instead of using prayer mat that provided by mosque to avoid the spread of covid-19. For normal people, maybe it's not a problem for our society. But some people have problem with it especially for aged people because the existing prayer mats don't have folding construction. So, it will difficult the aged people before and after pray. The material that use in existing prayer mat also has an issue because the material is not sustainable. So, it will get many nega­tive effects from that. Al Halawaah is a folded prayer mat with the folding construction to ease people before and after pray. It also has a simple and straight forward folding. After that, Al Halaawah is made from sustainable material which is Bamboo. The benefits of bamboo: 1) High durability 2) Natural UV resistant 3) Safe for our planet 4) No chemicals needed 5) No problem for high demand 6)It weathers well A descriptive survey and observations were conducted on 30 elderly people. This approach was used to obtain relevant information from the respondents about their comfort using the existing mats. It was found that the majority of user experience problems while using it. Based on the reported result, it is shown that, most of the user 80 percent were having difficulties in using existing prayer mat. Most of them are have difficulties because don't have folding construction. In this modern age, there are many products that help simplify our daily affairs and give many positive effects to the world. With this favor, we should make good use of it especially when the world is facing covid-19.
