Abstract

Efforts toward democracy and mature, fair, and equitable elections must be prioritized in order to propel social and political evolution forward in step with changing circumstances. Elections in Malaysia might be regarded as the zenith of democratization. Hence, the Article 119 Amendment Bill 2019 embodies the major aim of the democratization movement by reducing the voting and contesting age from 21 to 18 years. Political maturity among young people is essential to ensuring the stability and unity of Malaysia's multiracial society. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the Malaysian government to implement youth voting at the age of 18. This study will sample youth from around Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a proposed sample size of 320 persons. The research data will be gathered using surveys in which questionnaires will be sent digitally to respondents. It is to determine the relationship between the factors that influence the Malaysian government to implement youth voting at the age of 18, the study's primary determinants were youth awareness, political vote choice, government policy and political pressure.
