Abstract

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also known as Global Goals is a universal call of ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030. One of the SDGs is Goal 11, focusing on creating sustainable cities and communities. This research proposal is concentrating on the public perception of the impact of sustainable cities towards achieving the SDGs. The data can be achieved by conducting quantitative research. The researchers distributed questionnaires to citizens of Malaysia with a sample size of 387 respondents representing the Malaysia population of 32.7 million people. The data is then analyzed using normality test, reliability test, mean analysis, Pearson Correlation, and Multiple Regression. The findings show that there is a significant relationship between the dependent and independent variables since the results show p-value of 0.000. It is also identified that the strongest predictor that influence the SDGs in Malaysia is less consumption of goods. As the result of this study has been collected, it may provide knowledgeable insights that may be useful for the development in future. Implications and suggestions are also provided to guide other researchers that wish to investigate the same issue in this research report.
