Abstract

Paddy is an important crop in Malaysia apart from rubber and oil palm. Good management in agriculture is to ensure sustainable agriculture practices is implemented in producing a quality of yield and protect the environment. Malaysian Good Agricultural Practices (MyGAP) is an essential practices in order to produce high yield of paddy. This study has been conducted to access the knowledge and perception among paddy farmers at Kodiang district, Kedah. Total of 55 respondent has been interviewed to obtained information related to the study. The result from the study shows that only perception factor has significant value and higher impact than knowledge in implementation of MyGAP certification by comparing standardized coefficients (beta= 0.750 versus beta= 0.145). P-value for knowledge is p=0.112, no significant because it more than 5%. The result also indicate perception factor show the dominant as compared to knowledge by beta value 0.750 and 0.145 respectively. Hence, this shows that paddy farmer’s do not get exposure about MyGAP and had influenced their perception in implementing of the certifications at Kodiang, Kedah.
