Abstract

Rear seat belt wearing has been proven as one of the best methods in ensuring the safety of rear passengers. Government in various countries, including Malaysia has imposed the seat belt regulations for ensuring public safety especially for the vehicle occupants. The objectives of this study were to investigate the level of public compliance with rear seat belt regulations in Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and to associates factors that contribute to the compliance level on rear seat belt regulations among public in Sepanggar, Kota Kinabalu Sabah. The questionnaires used in this study have been divided into three sections and distributed randomly in Sepanggar area and have collected 300 respondents. To conclude, public compliances on rear seat belt regulations was very crucial in moving towards modernization world today.
