Abstract

Cucuk sanggul is one of the self jewelry item especially for the Malay, Portuguese, Indian and Nyonya Peranakan to prettify their hair. The main role of the cucuk sanggul actually is to embed and hold the bun that does not decompose. At present, cucuk sanggul is rarely used by the public and if the cucuk sanggul is not presented it may lead the knot to disappear swallow by age. Indeed, the reviewer chose to present it in a way in which is the cucuk sanggul motif are being used by applying it to their art product based on textile versatile product that will let more people know and be familiar to cucuk sanggul motifs and this quest is in addition to perpetuate the legacy of ancestors. By using three ways in which the study of the first reviewer will get notices of assessment inscribed, second is from a visual exploration of the cucuk sanggul motif to be combined and matched to produce designs and the third reviewer chooses to accept the view of the four people who are proficient in designs. Decisions will study conclusion by suggesting the best of the cucuk sanggul motifs on textiles as a versatile product in which it may please more people out there on the form of this cucuk sanggul and the use of the motifs may be diverse. An attempt to perpetuate the legacy of this cucuk sanggul needs to be prevented in an effort to evade and circumvent its use from vanishing in future and to avoid future generations to not recognize cucuk sanggul.
