Abstract

This thesis research is focus on Muslim desktop metaphors in Islamic interface design. In this project, I only focus on three icons in desktop metaphors such as home, start and web browser to apply as Islamic metaphors in Muslim desktop for Islamic product. These Islamic products used in the desktop as it aims to propose Islamic metaphors in Muslim desktop and also to convince Muslims that it is a product owned by Islam. Metaphors are suitable to be used because it helps to introduce Islamic products or symbolize Islamic and show the real identity of Islam to the Muslims. Metaphor used in interface design for Muslim desktop because Islamic metaphors do not exit and not effort to create in Muslim desktop and help designer to apply Islamic metaphors in the design of Islamic content and help Muslim to learn and understand some aspect of Islamic through visual representation. Metaphor in Muslim desktop can distinguish between the Islamic products and non-Islamic products
