Business intelligence system: development of Aplikasi Pelaporan Keputusan V2.0 for Lembaga Peperiksaan Malaysia / Muhammad Hanafi Ahmad

Business Intelligence (BI) evolved from Decision Support System (DSS); which focused on improving business decision making by using fact-based support systems. BI has become very important tools for business support and essential for large organization to take control business all over the world. However, in education sector, the implementation of BI applications is limited. Currently, education sector is facing the challenges to access accurate, understandable information to make confident and sound business decisions Lembaga Peperiksaan Malaysia (LPM) is one of the organizations in the education sector moving towards the use of BI in business decision making. One of the core processes in LPM is handling assessments in the form of major examinations in the country. LPM is having the challenge of analyzing the examinations results due to the volume of data. Aplikasi Pelaporan Keputusan v2.0 (APK 2.0) is developed for LPM, using Prototyping Model. This project focused on SPM examination for year 2012 and 2013 only. It is hope that the project will help staff of LPM with the pattern of analysis, better planning for future examination and uncover any hidden pattern in examination result. The report covers requirements gathering process which involved interview with LPM staff, methods used which is Prototyping Model, and Tableau, the tools used for development. The reports also cover along result and findings of the development including report, analysis and dashboard. Furthermore, recommendation for future work such as to include more data from past years and other examinations were included in the reports.
