Meet my father, a strong, loving and responsible father. As a typical Asian family, most father and daughter(s) have this weird relationship. It is either you are daddy’s princess or a stranger living in the same house. I never really thought about my relationship with my father, not until I lost my mom. Years after that, it came to my senses that he is the only parent I have today, thus I need to make beautiful moments with him as much as I can. As I grow up, he grows older.
“Legacy (2)“ is the second painting of my parents. I want to show the world what kind of people make me “me“ today. This painting depicted my father on his wedding day. He wore a traditional Padangnese groom clothing. Dominated by red and gold, Padangnese believe that these two colours represent bravery and majesty. I have to thank my parents for having me, for giving me the chance to meet them and to see the world. They taught me everything; to learn, to fall in love, to be broken-hearted and to stand up again when I fall. This may not repay all the love they have given me all my life, but I know now that from now on I will try my best.
