Abstract

Wasiyyah or wills is one of the issues faced by Malaysian especially Malay society. Thus, this study is carried out to determine what is the factor influencing most of Malays to make Wasiyyah (wills) and their perception of Wasiyyah (wills). Furthermore, there are unclaimed cash and assets left by deceased due to the absence of estate planning. Specifically, 90 percent of the Malays do not write Wasiyyah (wills) because of several reasons. The independent variables in this study are attitude, subjective norm, and knowledge. The study will use primary data collected by distribution of questionnaires and it will regress by SPSS using multiple regressions. Based on the result of previous studies, knowledge is the most influential factor for employees to make Wasiyyah (wills). This study shows that knowledge and attitude are significant with Malay perception on Wasiyyah (wills). It also shows that attitude is the most important factor that influences Malays perception on Wasiyyah (wills).
