Abstract

In modern times, many have changed either towards a better or worse one. Clever sages are not counted as much as in ancient times. However, there are still many who do not take the opportunity to study religious sciences such as waqf knowledge. Many issues have arisen due to lack of public awareness about waqf. Waqf is one of the most valuable or important components in shaping or developing socio-economic Islam which is believed to help the community such as in providing jobs, seeking income and reducing the cost of living. Although the institution or agency of waqf has long been established for the sake of the survival of the Malaysian community, many still do not use this institution well and many still do not know the importance of waqf. This paper aims to identify awareness on the wakaf implementation on young muslim community at Wangsa Maju based on issue arised and produce society's profiling towards awareness of waqf. Thus, this paper will attempt to discuss concept, process, utilization, legal and issues of waqf.
