Abstract

Circulation plays important role in any building, especially in institutions, as it is designed to control crowds of people for safety measures and create less distress space. Although it is design for safety measures, space planning also affects the productivity of the end users of the building. Some space planning that is not properly planned may conduct into bad performance despite how good the design looks like. In this study, users’ behaviour will be analysed on what make them lose productivity. Space planning will also be observed to investigate the users’ productivity. Users’ data will be gathered using Google Form, which is spread out through Whatsapp and online platform, to be analysed and carry out for further research. The total amount of thirty students completed the series of questionnaires and their responses were analysed using Google Form’s pie chart. Results indicated that the responses are vary and most of them agree that good space planning affects the performance of the users. Faculty that provides privacy, open area learning, and good connection between students and lecturers, create an environment that make good productivity for the end users. This study could be of use to academics. The study shares information and knowledge of space planning which can be useful, but have not been used to their full capacity. Academics may benefit from the theory and findings, which show how higher education is adjusting the productivity of the users.
