Abstract

Introduction : The noise is one of the hazards mentioned in the Factories and Machinery Act 1967. The presence of this noise will give discomfort to those who experience it and to those who work in the presence of these hazards contribute to workplace accidents as well as other health effects. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of noise towards workers at processing area at Agrobest (M) Sdn Bhd in Kg Tg Batu Pekan, Pahang Daruk Makmur. Hypotheses (null hypothesis) of this study was to determine that no health effects (psychological) of workers at the factory.
Methodology : Type of study is a cross-sectional which seeks to identify the impact of noise from the power of the workers at processing area. In this study, a total of 80 students selected as respondents (n = 80). Respondents were selected by simple random sample. Respondent conducted an examination of audiometric hearing tests and blood pressure tests and answered questionnaires.
Result : Results of the questionnaire was carried out using "Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS)" version 18. The results of the analysis carried out found seven (7) analysis of the variable done found only one (1 ), is significant with the null hypothesis that shows the value of (p-value) of less than 0.05.
Conclusion : The result of the decision shows that the noise level prevailing at the processing area is affecting the health (psychological) of the workers. This was demonstrated that 85. 71 percent of the relationship between the "variable" run that it is not significant to the "null hypothesis". Despite the presence of noise is within a year and has not left the negative effects (hearing loss), but it ought to be taken seriously. Steps to be taken is to reduce noise to an acceptable extent and the proposed measure is to confine the noise source as well as the final step is the use of security guards on the ear.
