Abstract

Provision of accessibility and support facilities for the disabled is one of the government's efforts to provide the best service for everyone including the disabled (OKU). Preparation these facilities is one way to ensure that the disabled will be easy to access to the building and provide a comfort also suitability to them. Improperly planned preparation will not provide the best service for the disabled. People with disabilities also have many type of category such as hearing impairment, visual impairments, physical disability and mental disability. This study is more focused on the disabled vision and the purpose of this study conducted was to evaluate the preparation accessibility and support facilities for the disabled. This research conducted at Kajang bus station. The method used for this study is using observation methods and questionnaires. There are some the findings obtained as a result of the studies conducted such as various of the problems faced by the visually impaired are from the aspect of movement. in addition, the problems such as an uneven surface will prevent movement, the route provided not comprehensive and does not connect area to area others. Provision of non -maintenance facilities will cause these facilities to be unsuitable for use would be dangerous safety of the visually impaired. People are also still lacking in awareness and selfishness where abusing that facility provided for the disabled. This problem needs to be addressed in order to provide the elements must be suitable and can be used by all groups especially groups blind. The facilities provided are also necessary easy to reach and used to connect with the surrounding area. The provision of facilities provided needs to be maintained and repaired immediately when any damage or problems occur. Preparation of guidelines as well should be made an act so that any construction should provide facilities for the disabled, especially the visually impaired facilities provided are more ‘OKU friendly’ facilities.
