Abstract

The study attempt to investigate more on small handed pianist issue, particularly in musical technical and the challenge of the music. This study documents the playing techniques and the solution for the future generation. By documenting and analyzing can help to contribute in this historical archival research. This study will look at the analysis of the study, the purpose of the study, characteristics and the impact of the study to the readers. The objective for this research is to find the accurate ways of dealing with finger alternation on some difficult passages, to clarify the solutions for small handed pianist on the right piano size, and lastly to analyze the technical and musical challenges towards Rachmaninoff s Prelude in C-sharp Minor, Op. 3, No. 2. To do so, qualitative research that include interviewing has been done. The data collected and analyzed were from primary data (interviewing), and secondary data (literature). The finding would focus on how finger re-evaluation technique giving better experience to create some intensity and avoid hand-crossing. Furthermore, using arm weight very useful instead of using finger and wrist in order to create a solution while playing Prelude in C-Sharp Minor op.3, No.2. Last but not least, the finding focused on how right external exercises for warm up routine before playing can actually improve overall technical and musical skill and fluency.
