Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify parents' perceptions towards music education in secondary school level. Therefore, this study serves to identify factors that influence parents' view towards music education in school. The respondents for this research consist of eight parents of the children from the selected school in Selangor. The majority of respondents had a positive perception towards music education in secondary schools. All respondents believe that music education should be taught in school, as it is cost effective. Apart from that, music develops their children's mind as well as provide career opportunities in the future. Furthermore, the majority of parents think that education should be taught secondary school level.
