Abstract

‘Killer Road' or 'Death Highway' is a nickname for the. Kuala Lumpur-Karak Toll Highway given by the users since this highway killed the highest road accident victims in Malaysia every year. In order to decrease the high accident rate of the highway, the Malaysian Highway Authority tries every effort to make this highway safe to be used. The traffic safety facilities and equipments are the tools to be enhanced, besides the widening and upgrading of the road pavement. As to locate the causes of traffic accident on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Toll Highway, a survey on the traffic safety of the highway had been conducted. Based on the research, the most suitable solutions to improve the safety factor of this highway towards providing a better, efficient and a safe highway for all traffickers had been found out.
