Abstract

It is a well-known fact that these days, social media is the largest platform used not only to communicate and connect with other people but also used as a medium to run businesses. Social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram have allowed users to register as a business account to make the process easier for one to offer their products or services. Depending on the type of products or service they market, these two social media platforms will help to boost the business. By reviewing the current literature, this article discussed social media trends in Malaysia. It was found that, that Malaysia has the highest count of WhatsApp users, actively uses use hashtags on Instagram, and actively subscribing paid reviews. In conclusion, there is various kind of marketing strategies that helps business owners to reach a wider audience, hence allowing their businesses to grow further.
